A dramatic new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gives more clues about the challenges facing the web-slinger in the movie sequel.

Titled The Rise Of Electro, the new three-minute promo features more of Jamie Foxx's super-charged supervillain - along more footage of Paul Giamatti's Rhino and a glimpse of Spidey's arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin.

And in between the eye-popping effects and action sequences, the trailer also suggests that Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) will be exploring some secrets from his past.

Dane DeHaan is seen giving an unsettling turn as his close pal Harry Osborn, while Emma Stone also features heavily as his GF Gwen Stacy - with ominous hints that her safety could be at risk.

The movie is set for release on 18 April in the UK.
