Ashleigh Crowned Young Apprentice Winner
Yorkshire lass impresses Lord Sugar with 'utter graft'...
Ashleigh Porter-Exley has been crowed the winner of Young Apprentice 2012, taking home a £25,000 prize from Lord Sugar.
The 17-year-old, from Yorkshire, beat Lucy Beauvallet to the title with her ethical streetwear brand.
And she clearly impressed Lord Sugar, who described it as a "great privilege" to watch her work throughout the show, and awarded the victory "for sheer and utter graft".
Ashleigh, who is currently studying for her NVQ in business and admin, said she had "grown in confidence" during the course of the series.
She told Digital Spy: "I'd set myself up to come second. Lucy was great throughout the show and she's just as worthy a winner as me.
"I think it was Lord Sugar's instinct in the end. I'm not the usual Apprentice candidate and maybe that was what swayed him to me in the end. I think it really was a 50/50 chance when it came down to that finale in the boardroom."
Ashleigh now plans to use her prize to set up either her own property management business or an accountancy firm.
