The Apprentice Final Five Revealed

The Apprentice is down to the final five contestants after Myles Mordaunt failed to "smell what sells" in this week's task.

 

The remaining six - girls versus boys - were sent out with £150 to source products to sell at Spitalfields market, with the aim of reinvesting in the big sellers.

 

And while the girls sensibly opted for a 'stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap' strategy, stocking their stall - and later their pop-up shop - with scarves, hats and leggings, Myles went high-end with his products.

 

Despite making big profits when they did sell, the boys' stall was half-empty and featured just a few designer ceramic pieces.

 

Things got tough in the boardroom, as Myles, Neil Clough and Jordan Poulton fought their corners, each explaining why their business idea should be Lord Sugar's pick.

 

Though Jordan almost talked his way out of the job, it was Myles' luxury brands business background that failed to spark Sugar's enthusiasm.

 

He told Mordaunt: "Marketing, expensive brands and all this type of stuff - we are in a recession, in a world recession, and I'm not sure whether that's the kind of business that I want to be in."

 

Speaking after his exit, Myles said: "Lord Sugar is actually a fantastic luxury brands consumer himself.

 

"My business plan was not the right one for him - it's not something that fascinates him or interests him or that he's on top of. That tells you everything you need to know.

 

"For me that was a bit of a body blow that he's not into this."

 

Myles' departure leaves Neil Clough, Jordan Poulton, Luisa Zissman, Leah Totton and Francesca MacDuff-Varley to face Lord Sugar's formidable interviewers in next week's show.
