An announcement over sale of songs by The Beatles on iTunes looks unlikely to happen today- despite rumours.

The fab four’s remastered back catalogue is being released today along with The Beatles’ Rock Band game.

And on the same day Apple are making a big secretive announcement in London.

The Beatles songs have never been on download service iTunes but it’s known that Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, the Harrison family and Ringo Starr have been talking to the company.

A now deleted article on the Sky News website claimed Yoko Ono has confirmed plans for their songs to appear on iTunes.

But The Beatles’ record label EMI have said there will be no announcement today.
