2018 BRITs Nominations: Dua Lipa & Ed Sheeran Lead The Pack
Dua Lipa is queen supreme of the 2018 BRITs nominees, picking up five nominations – the most of any artist this year! The singer’s No.1 smash ‘New Rules’ vies for the British Single and British Video Of The Year titles plus her debut self-titled album is up for British Album Of The Year. She rounds off her nominations with nods for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.
Joining Dua in the British Female Solo Artist category this year are Jessie Ware, Kate Tempest, Laura Marling and Paloma Faith.
Ed Sheeran follows close behind Dua with four nominations, also in the running for British Album Of The Year with ÷, and ‘Shape Of You’ also looking to take home British Single and British Artist Video Of The Year.
Liam Gallagher, Loyle Carner, Rag’n’Bone Man and Stormzy join Sheeran in the British Male Solo Artist category.
Elsewhere, despite being nominated in the British Single and Video Of The Year categories, Little Mix failed to be honoured in the British Group category. Vying for that title this year will be Gorillaz, London Grammar, Royal Blood, Wolf Alice and The xx.
Over in the international categories Beck, Childish Gambino, DJ Khaled, Drake and Kendrick Lamar are up for International Male Solo Artist, while Alicia Keys, Björk, Lorde, P!nk and Taylor Swift compete for International Female Solo Artist.
Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, HAIM, The Killers and LCD Soundsystem round of the International Group category.
Two 2018 BRIT Awards have already been handed out - Jorja Smith is this year’s BRITs Critics’ Choice recipient and Steve Mac has been named British Producer Of The Year.
This year’s BRITs is hosted by Jack Whitehall and will take place at London’s O2 Arena on 21st February and will feature performances so far from Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Sam Smith, Dua Lipa and Rag'n'Bone Man!
