Dermot O'Leary & Emma Willis Announced As New Hosts For The BRIT Awards 2017

They'll replace Michael Bublé, who pulled out to concentrate on caring for three-year-old son, Noah, who has liver cancer.

Dermot O'Leary & Emma Willis have been announced as the new host for The BRIT Awards 2017, following news that Michael Bublé would be unable to present the 2017 awards show.

Michael pulled out earlier this month, saying that he wanted to concentrate on caring for three-year-old son, Noah, who has liver cancer. BRITs Chairman and Chairman of Sony Music Jason Iley said: “Our thoughts go out to Michael and his family. We would love to see him on our stage in the future.”

Speaking about the new hosting gig, Dermot commented: “Firstly, my immediate thoughts and prayers are with Michael and his family at such a difficult time.

“Michael is an effortless show man, so those patent shoes will not be easy to fill, but it's an honour to be asked to step in with Emma to host the BRITs.

“The BRITs is an iconic show that I've watched and attended many times. It's a holy grail for a broadcaster, and I'm really looking forward to working with Emma, who I'm a big fan of, and celebrating a brilliant year of British music.”

Speaking about the role of 2017 host Emma said: "Every part of me sends so much love and all the well wishes in the world to Michael and his family at such a difficult time. I'm a huge fan of his and I would have relished watching him present the BRITs. I know everyone involved wants to make the best show possible and I hope we do him proud.”

Taking place on 22nd February at the O2 Arena in London, The BRIT Awards 2017 will feature confirmed performers Little Mix, The 1975, Robbie Williams and Emeli Sandé, with more names set to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, BRITs week, a series of gigs that give fans the opportunity to see the biggest names in music in intimate venues across London, all whilst raising money of children whose lives have been affected by war, will take place next week.

Biffy Clyro, The 1975, Craig David and more are set to perform. We’ve got more information on BRITs week right here for you.
