But life got in between
Tried to square not being there
But think that I should have been
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river so I
Can stop for a minute and see where you hide
Hold back the river, hold back
Once upon a different life
We rode our bikes into the sky
But now we crawl against the tide
Those distant days are flashing by
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold back
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river so I
Can stop for a minute and see where you hide
Hold back the river, hold back
Hold
Lonely water, lonely water won't you let us wander
Let us hold each other
Lonely water, lonely water won't you let us wander
Let us hold each other
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold back
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold
Lonely water, lonely water won't you let us wander
Let us hold each other
Lonely water, lonely water won't you let us wander
Let us hold each other
Bay said of making the shortlist: “I still can't believe it. As much as I hoped, being nominated for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award is not something I ever imagined would actually happen. What a huge honour.”
George The Poet stated: “I feel privileged to have been shortlisted for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award. I always dreamed of reaching people and this nomination shows me that I’m on track.”
I must behave
I must keep fighting
Don't give it up
I want to keep us compromising (Oh-uh)
Open your arms and pray
To the truth that you're denying
Give into the game
To the sense that you've been hiding
Where are you taking me?
I can't be blamed
I want you to want me again
Is it desire?
Or is it love that I'm feeling for you?
I want desire
'Cause your love only gets me abused
Give me that rush
I want to show you what you've been missing
Am I enough?
To keep your other lovers hidden?
Where are you taking me?
I can't be blamed
I want you to want me again
Is it desire?
Or is it love that I'm feeling for you?
I want desire
'Cause your love only gets me abused
Is it desire
Or is it love that I'm feeling for you?
I want desire
I wanna see what you're willing to lose
You know that you've got me
You've locked me down
You tell me you want me
You need it now
You know that you've got me
You've locked me down
You tell me you want me now
Is it desire
Or is it love that I'm feeling for you?
I want desire
'Cause your love only gets me abused
Is it desire
Or is it love that I'm feeling for you?
I want desire
I wanna see what you're willing to lose
Oh, what you're willing to lose
Years & Years added: "Having grown up watching the BRITs we're unbelievably honoured and to be honest quite overwhelmed to be included in the Critics’ Choice Award. We're so grateful to be making music and having this sort of recognition is crazy and ridiculous and nuts in a really good way. Thanks BRITs!"
Since this category was introduced in 2008, the winners - Adele, Florence + the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Tom Odell and Sam Smith have all gone on to become hugely successful artists, enjoying both domestic and international success, and selling in excess of 15 million albums between them in the UK alone.
The 2015 Critics' Choice Award winner will be announced on Thursday, December 4, with the The BRIT Awards 2015 with MasterCard set to take place on Wednesday, February 25 at London's O2 Arena.
