Clash For Questions!
Clash fan is pulled off plane as terror suspect...
A fan of legendary band The Clash has been hoisted off a plane after listening to some of his favourite songs in a taxi.
Harraj Mann from Hartlepool was pulled off a flight from Durham to London to be questioned under the terrorism act after his choice of music made a taxi driver suspicious.
On route to Durham Tees Valley Airport, Harraj was given permission to play his own music through the taxis stereo. He chose to play tracks by two of his favourite bands The Clash and Led Zeppelin, including London Calling and Immigrant Song.
Instead of joining in for a sing-along, the cab driver grew suspicious of lyrics like War is decalred and battle come down (London Calling), and decided to alert the police.
Durham authorities acted on the information and pulled Mr Mann of his flight. After questioning, police were satisfied that he did not pose a threat. Unfortunately, the flight had left by then. "I was laughing about it, said Harraj, but all my mates are absolutely furious. It's just left me bemused.
Apparently a Cheeky Girls fan was ejected from another flight but thats just because theyre rubbish...
