Michael B Jordan has been discussing the costumes lined-up for the movie reboot of The Fantastic Four.

The actor, playing Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch) in the new version of the Marvel Comics franchise, promised fans that the outfits wouldn't be cheesy.

"It's a new look. We are all in containment suits. It's gritty. It's a gritty film," he told ABC News.

"The costume process definitely took some time to get in and out of that thing, especially since I was bulking up.

"It was a little more snug during filming. We got through it man. It was a process, but we did it. It was hard work."

But he denied any knowledge of a planned crossover with The Avengers.

Asked about the possibility, he replied: "I have no clue, I have no idea about any of that.

"From a personal standpoint, it would always be cool to collaborate with other talented actors in that franchise. But I just have no clue whatsoever what Marvel has up their sleeve."

The Fantastic Four reboot is due in cinemas next August.
