New Flintstones Movie 'In Progress At Warner Brothers'
Will Ferrell reported to be executive producing remake of iconic animated sitcom...
A new movie version of The Flintstones is reported to be in the works at Warner Brothers.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Will Ferrell and Adam McKay will be overseeing the animated feature film via their Gary Sanchez Productions company.
And their partner Chris Henchy is claimed to be penning the script for the iconic show's return to the big screen.
Set in a stone age world with many similarities to 1960s America, the show followed the adventures of Fred and Wilma Flintsone and their neighbours Barney and Betty Rubble.
The show had a high-profile revival in 1994 with a Steven Spielberg-produced live action movie starring John Goodman, Elizabeth Perkins, Rick Moranis, and Rosie O'Donnell.
Although the Hanna-Barbera show only ran from 1960 to 1966, it was repeated regularly over the following decades - giving it a huge cross-generational appeal.
