Feisty Gossip front woman Beth Ditto surprised the crowd at the SXSW festival in Texas yesterday (March 15) when she stripped down to her undies.

After chucking off her frock, one female fan got so excited at the sight of the curvy front woman that she jumped up on stage and hugged her, which prompted Beth to shout, "Sisterhood is powerful!"

Beth's dress wasn't the only thing to come off either - before that she chucked a long black wig she'd been sporting into the crowd.

Of course, the band also treated the crowd to some blistering tunes. 'Standing In The Way Of Control' was an obvious inclusion, but they also got people moving with a rocking version of Tina Turner's 'What's Love Got To Do With It'.

She might come in for some stick from the tabloids for displaying her abundant curves, but we reckon Beth's a hero for being big, out and proud.

Last month, she told MTV News: "The size 0 thing is crap. It is very metaphorical. You would rather be zero? Nothing? I think that says a lot about society. I wish there'd have been someone like me around when I was growing up."
