Matt Damon Fights A Dragon In First 'The Great Wall' Trailer

The first trailer has dropped for period actioner The Great Wall, in which Matt Damon suits up in ancient Chinese battle gear for this tale of the creation of the Great Wall Of China. So far, so normal… but wait a minute, what’s this? Is that… is that a dragon?

Turns out, the whole premise of this one is that the Great Wall was built to keep something big, green and scaly at bay… and it’s going to take all of Damon’s badassery to make sure that happens. Explosions ahoy!

Not gonna lie, this one looks pretty mad, but given that director Zhang Yimou previously brought us the ultra-stylised Hero and House Of Flying Daggers, we probably shouldn’t have been expecting a straightforward historical drama.

Co-starring Willem Dafoe, Pedro Pascal and a big old dragon, The Great Wall will swoop into UK cinemas on 24 February 2017.
