The Hobbit Movie Getting Royal Premiere
Peter Jackson's latest film from Middle Earth to get royal charity screening...
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is to be given a royal premiere after being chosen for the 65th annual Royal Film Performance.
The first instalment of director Peter Jackson's latest JRR Tolkien trilogy is reported by BBC News to be getting a royal premiere on 12 December this year, two days before it goes on general release.
The annual event raises money for the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund - and charity president Anne Bennett said: "We are thrilled to be able to host the UK premiere of this highly anticipated first instalment of The Hobbit trilogy."
She also thanked Jackson and the film companies involved for making the movie available and expressed gratitude for the "unswerving support the Royal Family gives to our charity".
