Hunger Games Set To Be Bigger Than Twilight: Eclipse?

New movie franchise The Hunger Games is tipped to be bigger than The Twilight Saga: Eclipse after breaking pre-release ticket records.
The flick, based on the hit novel penned by Suzanne Collins, has set a company record on advance ticketing site Fandango - scoring 83% of sales on the website yesterday (23rd February).
The Hunger Games smashed Twilight's previous first-day advance ticket-seller record, which the vampire movie had held since Friday 14th May 2010.

Executive vice president and general manager of Fandango Rick Butler said of The Hunger Games:"The Hunger Games is off to a fantastic start.
"Yesterday we saw the biggest first day advance ticket sales in our company's nearly 12-year history – which is especially impressive for a March release and a non-sequel."
The Lionsgate film, which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, is also thought to have sold out hundreds of screenings ahead of its release on both sides of the Atlantic.
Last month, Hutcherson admitted that he disliked the comparisons between Twilight and The Hunger Games, because it sets "unfair" expectations for the movie.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the 19-year old explained: "I think it's unfair because it gives really big expectations for what we're supposed to do at the box office. Those movies are ridiculously successful,
"As far as their stories go they're very different. There are some similarities with it being a popular younger teen book and a bit of a love element, as well.
"In Twilight it's about vampires and werewolves, in our world it's a futuristic world that's very realistic. It's about survival and giving power to the people."
