J-Law really is a girl on fire in this must see film of the year...

Plot: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the second film in the movie trilogy - based on the books by Suzanne Collins. This flick shows the Capitol and President Snow’s reaction to how Peeta and Katniss won the Hunger Games, by defying the Capitol and preparing to die for another to eventually both become winners as the ‘Star Crossed Lovers of the Games’.

Whilst the Capitol are rejoicing at the 'lovebirds' victory, President Snow is not convinced and tells Katniss she has to prove him wrong throughout their victory tour of Panem.

She has become their beacon of hope and Snow decides to send Katniss into the arena again for the 75th Quarter Quell, this time with an added twist - she must fight all the previous victors of the Hunger Games, including Peeta, and there will only be one winner.

Best Scene: There are many very emotional and powerful scenes within this film, and many romantic ones between Peeta and Katniss. However, here at MTV, we think the tense scene where they fight vicious CGI baboons in the jungle comes out on top, as it’s not just Katniss and Peeta at risk - you don’t know who’s going to survive.

Best One Liner: "People are looking to you, Katniss. You've given them an opportunity. They just have to be brave enough to take it", utters Gale Hawthorne (played by Liam Hemsworth) - summing up the main message of the film perfectly.

Date Movie Or Mate Movie? This can be both, if you want someone to hold onto for the emotional, romantic and jumpy parts then it’s a date movie. However, this film is definitely a mate date if you like the books and the first film. Oh and it's also the perfect opportunity to gawp over J-Law, Josh and Liam with your pals.

Scene Stealer: The explosive end scene in the games leaves you on the edge of your seat, with the whole cinema gasping in shock. It also sets up the final flick in the trilogy perfectly…

Best WTF Moment: Probably the moment when Johanna, played by Jena Malone, steps into the lift with Peeta, Katniss and Haymitch and proceeds to strip naked in front of them! While the boys enjoy the striptease, Katniss' face is a picture - providing a lot of laughs from the audience.

Summary: This film, thankfully, stays very close to books - so the fans will be delighted. The costumes, make up, scenery and effects are more elaborate than its predecessor and really makes you feel that you are in Panem yourself.

The whole cast work incredibly well together, and all the actors involved are excellent, being complimented with a great script and soundtrack throughout.  It really is a true cinematic experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat and does not disappoint!

However, Jennifer Lawrence really stole the show and proved just why she definitely a girl on fire at the minute. A must see film of the year!
