5 Unforgettable Moments From The Killers' BST Hyde Park Show
They're ba-aaaaack – and better than ever? Yup, fresh from their surprise set at Glastonbury, The Killers rocked show five of Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park on Saturday night. Rather than showcasing tracks from their forthcoming fifth studio album, Wonderful Wonderful, Brandon and the boys stuck to what we all know and love best… and put on an epic show in the process.
Here are our top five moments:
1. The Man, the myth, the Flowers
Getting their only new track of the night out of the way first, The Man provided a fitting soundtrack for Brandon Flowers' entry to the BST stage, complimented by THAT pink jacket. Seriously, how does he just keep getting hotter with age? It might have been 26 degrees in Hyde Park, but it felt like 100 for sure.
2. Looking ba-aaaack,at sunsets on the east side
Yup, that is a Smile Like You Mean It reference, and how couldn't you smile when the song was playing and the sky looked like THIS?! Well played, London.
3. The blazer change
Just when we thought we couldn't get any more fired up, Brandon slid out of his pink finery and into a jazzy little black number, with PALM PRINT LAPELS. Seriously, where can we get our hands on one of these?
4. The encore to end all encores
This Is Your Life, Shot At The Night, When You Were Young AND Mr Brightside? Oh you are good to us, boys.
5. Ronnie's moment in the spotlight
It's not often that drummers take centre stage, despite their insane talents, so it was nice to see Mr Ronnie Vannucci have the last word as he chucked his many drumsticks out into the crowd after the encore. Sadly our lack of coordination meant we definitely didn't catch any. Setyour alarms for 9am on Friday 14th July when The Killers' UK tour goes on sale here.
