The Kooks are rescheduling five of their forthcoming tour dates because frontman Luke Pritchard has been struck down with laryngitis and tonsillitis.

The band have been forced to reschedule the following gigs: tonights Brighton date; Southampton - September 30; Norwich - October 1; Newcastle - October 2; and Leeds - October 3.

Luke has been ordered by docs to rest for at least six days.

The band, who are said to be "gutted", have put out a statement saying: We are truly upset to all of the fans who have been waiting since May to see these shows. We do apologise, but Luke is really quite poorly. We will be back very, very soon and look forward to seeing you all there. Love, The Kooks.

The boys will announce their rescheduled dates within the next couple of days.
