Libertines Frontman In Rehab
Libertines Frontman In Rehab
Pete Doherty of The Libertines has been admitted into the Priory rehabilitation clinic in London to kick his drug habit.
It is believed that Pete's manager Alan McGee drove him to the clinic on May 14, after several chaotic gigs with his side project, Babyshambles. The troubled singer admitted he was a crack addict last year, after serving time in prison for breaking in to fellow Libertine Carl Barat's house.
Writing on his website, babyshambles.com, from the clinic, Pete said: "I'm fine they've whacked me on loads of medication. 16 different colours of pills... I just had a few extremely disorientating days.
"Very deranged and murky recollection of the last few days; a gaggle of nurses around my crinkly bed, they all jump as I wake up and yelp something about jelly. Then I notice a needle sticking out of my arm and spots of blood," he continued. "What the f*ck is going on? Vomit and shrieks, some girl warbling down the corridor in a towel. Have so many days passed, what has happened? At least my laptop is here still. The only one who ever stood by me"
The Libertines' second album is due out in the summer.
