The Libertines To Release New Album Next Year
Co-frontman Carl Barat tells NME it was always their intention to hit the studio again...
Following their recent comeback gig at Hyde Park, The Libertines star Carl Barat has suggested fans can expect a new album next year.
During an interview with NME, the guitarist explained that recording together again has "always" been their intention, stating: "I don't wanna just go on the road because then you'll get cabin fever and have an epic fallout.
"So yeah, I want to keep something fresh coming in. We just need to find the time."
When asked for a possible released date for their new LP, the co-frontman added: "Next year, it has to be."
Barat's bandmate Pete Doherty also hinted at the possibility of new material, claiming the group will travel to Germany for writing sessions.
He stated: "For some reason in my head, I'm thinking October, November time.
"That's what will have to happen. Basically, it'll have to be like Paris, but in Hamburg, and for a bit longer. I'm well up for it."
