Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda Joins Little Mermaid Remake As Songwriter
Your favourite Disney choons are about to get a whole lot better...
Musical fans should brace themselves.
Broadway's golden child, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, has joined the remake of Disney's The Little Mermaid as a producer and songwriter.
Not only that, but Alan Menken (who wrote the songs for the 1989 original and won two Oscars in the process) is back on board, meaning that the new live action rejig will include music that's both timeless and toe-tappingly modern, as the pair team-up to write the songs together.
All together now...
The Little Mermaid is the latest in a long line of live action remakes of Disney classics slated for the big screen, including 101 Dalmatians, Aladdin, The Jungle Book 2, Dumbo, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, and Pinocchio.
