And while it's usually Depp who steals the show at movie openings, he was comprehensively upstaged by his co-star - who opted to wear a vibrant red suit for the occasion.
Hammer was accompanied by wife Elizabeth Chambers as he showed his custom-made Gucci suit off on the matching red carpet.
And Depp was joined by back-on-again GF Amber Heard at the afterparty for the movie later in the evening.
Other guests included movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer, former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts and Diana Vickers.
The western "reboot" is set to open on 9 August.
