Private Funeral Held For The Monkees Star Davy Jones
It is thought Davy's fellow Monkees stayed away from the service...
The Monkees frontman Davy Jones' funeral has taken place near his home in Florida.
Jones sadly passed away at the age of 66 last week after suffering a fatal heart attack in his sleep.
His publicist, Helen Kensick, has confirmed to Reuters that a private service took place yesterday (7th March), with his wife and daughters in attendance.
Kensick added that his body would be cremated and his ashes returned to Davy's native Manchester - where a public memorial has been scheduled for next week.
She also claimed that another public service could also take place in either New York or Los Angeles.
It is thought that Jones' bandmates never attended the funeral, with drummer Micky Dolenz previously telling Billboard that the family wanted a "very low-key service."
He explained: "And you can imagine as soon as one, or two, or any of us were to show up, it would very quickly be degraded."
