Ellen DeGeneres Stars In First Oscars Trailer

She's hosting the most famous award show in the world...

Leave it to Ellen DeGeneres to make a song and dance out of hosting this year’s Oscars!

The comedian has just debuted a trailer for the awards show, which features her – and a cast of 250 back-up dancers – singing along to song The Walker by indie band Fitz & the Tantrums.

The vid was directed by Paul Feig, who shot to fame directing hit comedy Bridesmaids. “I’ve loved the Oscars since I was a kid, and always, for as long ago as I can remember, always wanted to be able to go to it,” Paul recalled.

Which is why, he explained, the message of the trailer is: "Everyone gets to go to the Oscars this year.”

Ellen also loved the concept: “Paul Feig has a reputation of being hilarious and nice and smart and I thought this is a great idea and I loved it,” Ellen gushed, before adding: “And I wanna be in Bridesmaids 2.”

Filmed on the Warner Bros studio back-lot, the trailer starts with Ellen making the final adjustments to her Oscars outfit – straightening her bowtie and tying her shoes – before walking through the set while she mimes to the song and dances. Every few steps she is joined by more and more dancers.

The group number was choreographed by Stephen Boss of hit US show So You Think You Can Dance and features Ellen performing a range of snazzy moves, including a snippet of Psy’s infamous Gangam Style dance (check it out at 0.23).

Last year Psy himself came onto The Ellen Show to teach the hilarious host - and her guest Britney Spears – how to perform it properly.
