Ellen DeGeneres Takes Best Selfie Ever At The Oscars, Crashes Twitter

Ellen has broken the record for most the retweeted tweet ever...

Ellen DeGeneres has taken what has to be the world’s most star-studded selfie ever.

Wading into the Oscars crowd, Ellen explained she wanted to beat the record, currently held by Barack Obama, for the most retweeted tweet ever.

So she enlisted the help of Hollywood’s biggest stars including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep and Jared Leto, among others. Bradley Cooper took the snap, although when Ellen posted the pic to Twitter she joked: “If only Bradley's arm was longer. Best photo ever.”

[related]While the Hollywood stars scrambled to get into the shot, the always hilarious J-Law joked: “Maybe I should drop a boob if we want it to be retweeted this many times?” While someone else – possibly Meryl – replied in shock: “What does dropping a boob mean?”

Luckily for her PR team, Jen – who was earlier seen tugging up her strapless Dior dress on the red carpet – refrained from ‘dropping a boob’.

The moment was also a first for 18-time Academy Award nominee Meryl who said: “Oh, I’ve never Tweeted before.”

Less than an hour after Ellen posted the pic, it was retweeted over 1 million times, setting a new record. She later came onto the stage and announced that she had received an email from Twitter confirming the social network had crashed following the post.

During the ceremony a hungry Ellen also decided to order some pizzas, which she then doled out to the mega-famous audience.

While some refused to take a slice – Leonardo DiCaprio we’re looking at you – others including Kevin Spacey, Jared Leto and, of course, Jennifer Lawrence, were happy to tuck in. Brad Pitt was also seen taking some paper plates from the Oscar host.

And when it came to paying the pizza delivery guy, Ellen knew exactly who to ask: “Sandy, you got a lot of money, you can tip him right?” she asked Sandra Bullock.

Last week it was revealed that Bullock could earn upwards of $70 million for her role in space thriller Gravity.
