Gravity and 12 Years A Slave have been jointly named Best Picture at this year's Producer's Guild Of America (PGA) awards.
The unusual result leaves the race wide open for both films at this year's Oscars.
The PGA awards have correctly picked the film that has gone on to win the top award at the Oscars for the past six years.
It is the first time there has been a tie in its 25-year history.
The movies' success comes after both lost out to American Hustle at the Screen Actors Guild awards on Saturday.
Hollywood insiders are now predicting a three-way battle between Gravity, 12 Years A Slave and American Hustle to walk off with Best Picture at the Oscars in March.
