The 2007 Oscar nominations have been announced and Beyonce's new flick, Dreamgirls, is leading the way with a whopping eight nods.

The movie is up for best song in a movie and best supporting actor and actress, amongst others.

However, it has not been nominated in the best picture category and neither is Ms Knowles up for an individual award.

Bey will however, be cheering on co-star, Jennifer Hudson - who's up for best supporting actress - and Mel B-baiting, film veteran Eddie Murphy who's up for best supporting actor.

Brad Pitt will be chuffed too - his intricate new thriller Babel earned seven nods including the big one for best picture. MTV fave, and Blood Diamond lead, Leonardo Di Caprio, will battle it out with Pursuit of Happyness's Will Smith for best actor.

And it's a good year for the Brits with Judi Dench (Notes On A Scandal), Kate Winslett (Little Children) and Helen Mirren (The Queen) getting three out of five nods for best actress.
