Oscar Nominations Announced

Brits Colin Firth and Helen Mirren are up for the awards...

Avatar and The Hurt Locker lead the Oscar nominations for 2010 with nine nods each.

Also featuring multiple times on the list are Up In The Air, Precious, A Serious Man, Up and Inglourious Basterds.
British hopes include Colin Firth - who is up for Best Actor for his role in ASingle Man. Helen Mirren- who picked up an Oscar for The Queen- is up for Best Actress against stars including Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock.
The British writers of In The Loop and An Education have all bagged nominations too.
