Oscars 2007: The Winners!

It's a big night for Helen, Jennifer, Forest and Scorsese...

Brit actress Helen Mirren was triumphant at last night's Oscars (February 25) taking home the prestigious best actress award for her role in The Queen.

The glamorous star thanked her maj herself as she picked up the famous silverware saying, "I thank her because if it wasn't for her I most certainly would not be here. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Queen!"

Forest Whitaker took home the best actor silverware for his turn as controversial president Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland.

And it was a fab night for former American Idol star Jennifer Hudson too - she repeated her BAFTA success and scooped the gong for best supporting actress.

Legendary director Martin Scorsese was also celebrating - his film The Departed bagged four awards, including the big one for best picture. It's the first time the gangster flick specialist has bagged an Oscar.

The cast of funny family-based flick Little Miss Sunshine were also all-smiles after bagging the trophies for best original screenplay and best supporting actor, which went to Alan Arkin
