U2 Confirmed To Perform At The Oscars

Irish band will play nominated tune, Ordinary Love, at the ceremony on March 2...

U2 have been confirmed to perform at the 86th Academy Awards next month.

Bono and Co will take to the stage at the event to play their track Ordinary Love, which is taken from flick Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

The Irish rockers have scored a nod in the the Best Original Song category for the tune, where they will go head-to-head with Pharrell Williams (Despicable Me 2), Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Frozen) and Karen Orzolek and Spike Jonze (Her).

Williams has already been confirmed to perform his No.1 single Happy, while Indina Menzel will also sing Frozen song Let It Go at the ceremony.

Ellen DeGeneres is due to host the star-studded bash, which takes place on March 2 - live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
