Fairytale of New York has topped a VH1 poll to discover the nation's favourite Christmas hit.
The raucous collaboration between The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl, first released in 1987, decimated the competition, seizing 39% of the vote. Mariah Carey came in second with All I Want For Christmas, which collected a respectable 22% of the poll, and Wham's Last Christmas took the third spot.
Sir Cliff Richard's Mistletoe and Wine crawled in fourth, claiming just 7% of the votes cast.
