Tommy, who was born Erdelyi Tamas, had been receiving care in a hospice for cancer when he passed away at home.
Ramone founded the punk band alongside Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee in New York in 1974.
He drummed on the band's first three albums before leaving The Ramones in 1978.
Tommy later co-produced the band's fourth album, and their 1984 LP Too Tough to Die.
He was the last original member of the band, as his fellow bandmates Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny died in 2001, 2002 and 2004 respectively.
