Wills And Kate Return Home From Honeymoon
The royal couple spent a “memorable” 10 days in the Seychelles…
The palace said Wills and Kate had "thoroughly enjoyed their time together" and had thanked the Seychelles government for helping to make "the honeymoon such a memorable and special 10 days".
There had been speculation ahead of The Royal Weddingthat the Indian Ocean paradise would be the honeymoon destination, but nothing was confirmed until now. It’s thought the newlyweds stayed in a £4,000-a-night villa on the North Island; they flew back to the UK on Friday.
"They left happy and clearly content with their stay," a rep for the Seychelles tourism board said.
Foreign minister Jean-Paul Adam added that they were “truly honoured that Prince William and his wife chose to return to Seychelles for this special holiday and we are proud to have been able to offer them a peaceful and private getaway”.
The Seychelles coastguard had helped ensure the couple were undisturbed during their stay, and the BBC reports that on the couple’s final day they invited the coastguard ashore to meet them and personally thank them for their efforts.
