The Saturdays 'Surprised By US Popularity'
EXCLUSIVE! Band talk about their new E! TV show, Chasing The Saturdays...
The Saturdays may have left the comforts of home behind them in a bid to crack America, but the girls have exclusively told Perez Hilton's post-MTV VMAs party in the first episode - one thing is for sure, fans are in for one hell of a ride!
During a Q&A following the show, we were keen to find out how their American following compares to their fans here in the UK, with the girls explaining how they were shocked to discover how much their US fanbase knew about them.
Rochelle earlier revealed their fears over suffering a 'tumbleweed' moment at a signing in Times Square, New York, with Una telling us: "We are only getting to know them as they are all quite new and we are only starting to build a fan base.
"At the signing, a few hundred people turned up and like Rochelle was saying, we were worried for the tumbleweed. But there was a long queue and they had like all the CD singles from the very beginning and they had been following us on the internet.
"We are growing our fan base and they are all just so nice, The Americans tend to be very optimistic and positive and it's quite nice to have that. But we do not forget about our fans back here in the UK."
[uuid:]Mum-to-be Rochelle added: "They were really similar I thought", with Una then stating: "Fans in general keep you going. You wouldn't be anything or anyone without them in this industry."
Referring to their popularity in America, Frankie said: "It's just more of a shock when we know that they know our older stuff.
"You kinda forget that because of the internet, everyone can kind of see everything, you don't really realise that people from that far across the pond know who we are, it was more of a surprise I think."
You can catch Chasing The Saturdays on E! UK from 3rd February at 10pm.
