MTV Review | The Script Are 'Superheroes' At iTunes Festival!

Irish band celebrate the release of their new album 'No Sound Without Silence' with a hit-packed show at Camden's Roundhouse...

Night fifteen of the this year's iTunes Festival saw The Script bring their Irish charm and chart hits to Camden Roadhouse, sealing their fate in the Hall Of Fame.

Feeling:After a 'Glorious' opening from the beautiful singer/songwriter Foxes -which included her hits Clarity, Holding Onto Heaven, as well as a mash-up cover of tour mate Pharrell’s Happy and Massive Attacks Teardrop - the crowd were ready towelcome their headliners The Script to the stage.

The Look:Danny O'Donoghuesporteda typical front-man-rock-star look, complete with black skinny jeans and a black trench coat. Getting rid of this coat after the very first song – much to the delight of the largely female audience (it’s as if it was planned!) he revealed a delightfully fitted long-sleeved black top and waistcoat.

Tunes: With a career spanning over six years, the crowd were treated to a set list that covered the band’s first three albums including favourites such has Breakeven, Six Degrees of Separation, For The First Timeand Hall Of Fame. In addition to these, Danny and the gang treated the Camden Roundhouse audience to a selection of tracks from their newly released fourth album, No Sound Without Silence.Storming onto the stage to the sound of Paint The Town Green -an exciting and raucous number - showing us that they can rock a crowd, whileandSuperheroesproved theywere embracing their new material as if they had known it for years.

[related]Banter: Surprisingly,MrO'Donoghue was a man of very little words and left it up to guitarist Mark Sheehan to engage with the crowd. By telling us stories of how his fear of heights and his fellow bandmates teasing him (oh boys will be boys) inspired new LP trackMan On Wire to getting an audience member to call an ex-girlfriend so Danny can sing Nothingdown the phone to her (luckily it was an iPhone). Danny ended their conversation with crowd shouting GOODBYE ASSHOLE to her. Hmm,The Script may have lost a fan last night…

Sweat Factor: As Danny was wearing all black it would have been very impressive forhim not to sweat. With him constantly moving from one side of the stage to the other, or to coming into the audience himself on several occasions to surprising everyone and turning up in the seated area I am breaking out in a sweat just thinking of all the running around he did!

Celeb Spots:MTV's very own Laura Whitmore was spotted rocking out!

Summary: The Script proved that they have theability to break out their hits and show the crowd that their new album would be full of rip-roaring tunes ready for sing-alongs at gigs.
