The footballing hero, who began his career at Manchester United, praises the band in the official programme for their long-awaited homecoming gig.
According to The Sun, Becks said: "The Stone Roses was part of my upbringing in Manchester. And being an East End boy, that's saying something.
"Their music has inspired so many people but for me it brings back memories of the most happiest time in my football career, when I started my career at Manchester."
David, who also revealed that I Am The Resurrection is his favourite track, added: "The fact that they are back is incredible to see."
Other celebs to contribute their thoughts on the band include Damien Hirst, Ryan Giggs, Noel Gallagher and Mark Owen.
Tickets for the reunion gigs at Heaton Park sold out in just 14 minutes.
