The Stones Roses Premiere New Film In Manchester
The Stone Roses hit Manchester last night (May 30) for the world premiere of their documentary The Stone Roses: Made Of Stone.
Ian Brown, John Squire and Gary 'Mani' Mounfield walked the red carpet at the Victoria Warehouse in Trafford Park for the gala screening, where they were also joined by director Shane Meadows and producer Mark Herbert.
Member Reni was absent at the event due to illness, deciding to rest up ahead of their shows at Finsbury Park in London next week.
Speaking to BBC 6Music at the premiere, Squire confirmed that the reunited rockers have written some new songs together, with the hope of recording them in the very near future.
When asked about the situation regarding new material, the guitarist stated: "We're working on it. It'll be ready in about five years. We've got a few new songs.
"I can't really tell you much about it. We won't be playing the songs live until we've recorded them. We're working on it this year."
