The World’s Longest Music Video
MTV teams up with Mike Skinner to produce the worlds longest music video, for charity
The Streets and MTV have collaborated to produce what will become the worlds longest music video.
The as-yet untitled project draws together footage filmed by 25 young MTV viewers across the UK and will run at an epic 20 minutes " finally knocking Michael Jacksons 18-minute Thriller video off its perch. The video will be aired on Tuesday August 1 on MTV at 8.30pm to celebrate MTVs 25th anniversary.
Mike has of course written the music, and Alastair Siddons (Roots Manuva, Mystery Jets, Kano) was brought in to direct the film. The track will be released as a single, and all proceeds will go to the Staying Alive Foundation, a registered charity that provides grants to mobilise and empower young people to fight HIV and AIDS.
The video will premiere on MTV at 8.30pm on Tuesday August 1st, and will then be available to view on Overdrive - so watch this space!
