The Vines Pull Out Of Reading & Leeds Festivals
The Vines have cancelled their appearance at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals, to give singer Craig Nicholls a chance to rest.
A statement from the band read: "Were really sorry that we have to pull out and want to thank all of our fans and friends for being so understanding about our situation this year. Reading and Leeds are definitely festival highlights - we all remember Reading two years ago as our best gig ever -so its been a very hard decision to make, but sadly were just not ready to play live again."
Singer Craig needs to "rest and recuperate following a mentally and physically demanding period," a spokesperson explained. The band also recently pulled out of a US tour with Incubus, but they have assured fans they are not splitting up.
Vines bassist Patrick Matthews will use his downtime to stand in for a recently departed member of Sydney band Youth Group on their forthcoming Australian tour. "The Vines are definitely still together. We havent broken up and I havent left the band," he said.
