We told you just over a month ago that Taylor Swift was reportedly being lined-up as mentor on The Voice USA - and now it's official.

And she won't be playing favourites with her words of wisdom, because show bosses have created the new role of "key advisor" for her - and she'll be working with all four coaches.

The 24-year-old Shake It Off singer will be helping the hopefuls with their "vocal technique, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their personalities and strengths".

The hugely popular NBC show has seen the arrival of Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams as new coaches this year - joining established faces Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

T-Swift will make her first appearance on the show on 27 October - which co-incidentally (or not) is the day her new album 1989 comes out.

She'll also be on again the next day and then during the knockout rounds up to 3 November.
