Four Unlucky Acts Leave The Voice

Tom Jones and Will.I.Am cut their teams down to just two remaining acts...

The Voice coaches Tom Jones and Will.I.Am have lost two acts apiece this weekend, leaving just two on each team to do battle in two weeks' time.

Both Ruth Jones and Jaz Ellington were voted straight through by the public, leaving Will and Tom to choose one other act from their remaining three.

The Jessie J who suggested she "take more risks". A tearful Frances insisted she had learned from the 'amazing' experience.

Joelle Moses had performed Kelly Clarkson's What Doesn't Kill You, a song chosen by her mentor.Danny O'Donoghue's suggestion that she 'cracked' on some of the high notes was met with disbelief by coach Will, who responded: "You didn't crack, he on crack."

Joelle took the news of her exit with good grace though, and thanked all four coaches for their "encouragement and constructive criticism".

On Tom Jones' team, Matt and Sueleen were up first and feeling the pressure after being in the bottom two last week. Singing Missing by Everything But The Girl, the couple sat back-to-back on two park benches and split the judges with their performance.

Will called it "a Harry Potter moment", but Jessie and Danny disagreed, criticising the lack of connection caused by the stage set-up. Clearly disappointed to leave the show, Sueleen insisted it had been a "crazy, amazing experience".

Also leaving Tom's team was guitar-playing Adam Isaac, who opted to sing a stripped back version of Radiohead's High And Dry. Adam showed there were no hard feelings towards his mentor, saying: "This show is called The Voice and Leanne has got the voice."

Next week, it will be Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue's turn to cut their teams from four to two.
