The 28-year-old boy band member, who came to fame on rival show Emma Willisin fronting the primetime show - which will also feature Kylie Minogue as a coach next year.
A source said: "Marvin is nervous but excited.
"He's got a few months to brush up on his presenting skills before the live shows, but he'll go straight into the recorded rounds very soon.
"Bosses reckon he and Emma will have great chemistry."
Marv and wife Rochelle Wiseman, of The Saturdays, have previously stood-in for Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning.
