The Voicecoach Kylie Minogue has spoken out about filling Jessie J’s spinning chair on the talent show.

Speaking at the launch of The Voice UK Series 3, which MTV News UK attended this morning in London, Kylie said:“I think Jessie did a great job, especially for someone so young to be in that position and do the hard work.”

“I wouldn't even get in the door if we were to talk about voices, with Jessie's phenomenal voice and talent, and the spunk that she has,” Minogue gushed about her predecessor.

However the Australian star did say that fans of the show could expect something different from her. “I'm a completely different character so even if I was trying to really fill someone's seat you actually can't do that and you have no option but to be yourself.”

“So I hope that Jessie enjoys seeing me in her seat and I'm very proud to be taking the reigns from her.”

Co-star Will.I.Am also chipped in saying: “You really can't compare the two. Kylie’s reached a level of success that we all wanna have, as well as people who wanna be in the industry. The show needs a Kylie.”

The Spinning Around singer also revealed that she’d been approached to do The Voice before it aired in the UK but turned it down: “I considered Series 1 and I just, for whatever reason, went, 'ahh, I can't commit to that yet.'”
