The Voice: First Knockout Round Results

Sir Tom Jones and Will.I.Am select their teams for the live shows...

Will.I.Am have both picked their teams of three contestants to take into The Voice's live shows.
The first of the new "Knockout Rounds" saw the two judges tasked with whittling their remaining seven contestants down to just three - with Jessie Jand Danny O'Donoghue set to follow suit this evening.
The format saw each of the judges first pick their favourite contestant to get a "fast pass" - sending them straight to the live shows.
Then the remaining six are split into groups of three - with one going through from each group.

Country singer Mike Ward was chosen for a "fast pass" by Sir Tom - who went on to select Welsh songbird Alys Williams and Filipino music student Joseph Apostol for the other two spots on his team.
Will.I.Am gave his "fast pass" to Belfast fashion student Leah McFall - who later proved she deserved it with a stunning version of Loving You by Minnie Ripperton.

And the winners of his two knockout rounds were Cleopatra Higgins and Leanne Jarvis.
