The Voice Live Finalists Revealed
The coaches have picked their top five after the weekend's battle rounds...
The 20 acts going through to the live stages of The Voice were revealed last night as the second of the battle rounds saw 11 more singers fight their way into the finals.
Jessie J's team. The Tom Jones' team was all about big voices. First Leanne Mitchell narrowly beat Barbara Bryceland with her version of Lady GaGa's Edge of Glory, before couple Matt and Sueleen rocked their way into the live shows with Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, sending Lindsey Butler home.
Sir Tom praised both Adam Isaac and Denise Morgan for their vocals during Use Somebody by the Kings Of Leon but it was Isaac that finally made the cut.
On will.i.am's team, vocal 'chameleon' Frances Wood outshone Kate Read in their performance of Ironic by Alanis Morrisette, and 17-year-old Sophie Griffin out-battled flame-haired J Marie Cooper during Katy Perry's Firework to make it through to the live stages.
Four more of Danny O'Donoghue's hopefuls did battle on the night. Hannah Berney knocked Murray Hockridge out as Kylie Minogue to his Robbie Williams in a rendition of Kids, but there was a surprise winner when Aleks Josh came up against Emmy J Mac.
Singing Broken Strings by James Morrison and Nelly Furtado, Emmy appeared the stronger singer but Danny felt that Alex had more potential and declared him the victor.
The standout performance of the night came from David Julien and John James Newman.
Their take on the Stereophonics' Dakota had the coaches on their feet and left Danny with "the hardest decision" he has ever had to make. It was disappointment for veteran John James though, as David emerged victorious.
With nine finalists already decided on Saturday night, the coaches now have their top five. Next week sees the start of the live shows and it will be down to the public to decide who stays and who goes.
