The Voice Twist To Let Coaches 'Steal' Contestants
UK version of talent show will also see new 'knockout' round introduced...
Details have been released of the updates being made to the format of the UK version of The Voice.
And one of the most talked-about changes is likely to be a new "steal" twist introduced to the battle rounds.
This will give [uuid=fe93c0b5-100f-4f3f-9eff-fd3f374acefd]Will.I.Am, Jessie J, Danny O'Donoghue - the opportunity to "steal" a contestant once a rival has eliminated them in the "battle rounds" stage of the show.
Following each battle, the loser will get a moment to pitch to the judges why they should stay in the contest - and there will then be a moment when the judges can press their "steal" button to poach the hopeful.
If more than one coach attempts a "steal", the contestant will get to choose between them.
Coaches will only be able to steal one contestant each during the entire show.
There will also be a new "knockout" round at the end of the battles. Each judge will have seven contestants at this point, and each of those will perform a "killer song" to state their case for a place in the final.
The coaches will then choose three apiece to take forward into the finals - thus creating the final 12.
Leanne Mitchell won last year's show.
