The Voice Victor Andrea Clears Air With Will.I.Am
Surprise winner gracious in triumph despite coach's critical tweets...
The Black Eyed Peas star was reported to have "stormed off" of the set of the BBC talent show on Saturday night after Andrea's surprise triumph. His contestant Leah McFall had been widely expected to take the win.
Digital Spy reports a source as saying that Will "walked off stage from his chair looking really cheesed off and shaking his head".
And he later tweeted: "You should feel the audience's vibration in the room tonight after the public's vote... its unexplainable... so sad... perplexed."
But he clearly thought he might have gone too far, because he followed it up with: "Andrea is amazing... don't get me wrong... but we know who has the incredible voice."
Andrea brushed his comments off though, telling The Mirror that she had spoken to him in the wake of her victory.
"I fully expected Will to react the way he did. Leah was his act and he was a huge supporter.
"After the show, we spoke and he said that if I were his act, he would have been 100 per cent behind me as well. I think he is disappointed but I know that she will go on to great things. But, at the end of the day, I won."
And Will has clearly moved on too, because he's been tweeting about his plans for Leah's career.
He wrote: "Congratulations to Andrea for winning #TheVoiceUK... It's time to focus and build... let's go@leahmcfallmusic... I'm so pumped... me and Leah will start next week... #newORIGINALsongs.
"As a matter of fact... let's start in NYC next week... somebody wake up the wizards... let's make magic @leahmcfallmusic... Let's have some new songs finished before #wirelessFESTIVAL #boom... let's go!!!"
