The BBC are allegedly set to sign a new three-year-deal...

Amidst allegations that ITV are set to take on 'The Voice', BBC bosses are expected to announce today that they have re-signed the singing talent showfor a new three-year deal.

According to The Mirror, this comes after ITV swooped in to steal the show by offering to match the £11 million a year that the BBC currently pays, plus launch spin-offs of the show including a kids version.

When asked to clarify the reports, a BBC spokesperson told ITV news: "It is incorrect to say that the BBC has axed The Voice and we are in negotiations about its future."

BBC bosses have allegedly secured the show despite offering significantly less than the £55 million they have paid for the last five series.

It has also been reported that the BBC are set to keep the show from 2017-2019 despite ITV now owning the production companywhich makes the show.

This news comes after the BBC were under fire from the government to make cuts, with the Saturday night entertainment show being an alleged waste of licence fee payers' money.
