The Walking Dead Sixth Season Confirmed

Zombie drama set to rise again after eagerly anticipated new series...

Fans might still be waiting impatiently for the start of the fifth season of The Walking Dead, but they'll be relieved to hear there will be another one after that.

With just days until the new series hits the small screen, AMC has announced that it has already given the green light to a sixth run of the post-apocalyptic zombie drama.

AMC president Charlie Collier said in a statement: "In advance of Sunday's season five premiere, AMC proudly confirms a sixth season order of this extraordinary series. Thank you to Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, the terrific executive producers, and the entire team who bring this compelling world and these rich characters to life.

"There's plenty more Dead ahead thanks to their impressive, collective effort."

And that's not all the undead goodness that lies ahead - because AMC has also green lit a pilot for a companion show, which is expected to show the beginnings of the zombie apocalypse.

Season five reaches the UK on Monday (13 October)at 9pm, where it will be shown on Fox.
