The Wanted Dismiss 1D Rivalry
Nathan Sykes insists 'it's all good' between the boy bands...
With both bands doing well in the US, comparisons were bound to be made but, following comments from The Wanted's Max George recently, rumours of boy band conflict quickly spread.
According to The Metro, George compared the former X Factor lads to the Jonas Brothers and was quoted as saying: "I'm not sure how well they're actually doing yet. They're more faces, if you know what I mean."
Meanwhile, The People claimed Max's bandmate Nathan Sykes said: "We don't want their fans, they're too young."
At the time, both suggested their words had been "twisted", and now Nathan has dismissed rumours of 1D rivalry.
He told TMZ: "I think we intimidate a lot of people, but I am pretty sure we don't intimidate other teenage boys! No, it's all good. I was texting Liam [Payne] earlier."
Both bands have enjoyed considerable success Stateside, with The Wanted scoring a top five single with Glad You Came, and One Direction shifting more than a million copies of their US debut single, What Makes You Beautiful.
