The Wanted's Nathan To Miss Summertime Ball?

Listen to the singer talk about his recent vocal chord op here...

The Wanted star Nathan Sykes has expressed his concerns about his voice, revealing he may be forced to pull out of the Capital FM Summertime Ball this Sunday (June 9).
Sykes - who recently [uuid=d19236b3-c380-4232-b750-deea974f25b0]had an operation for a haemorrhagic nodule[/uuid] on his vocal chords - told the radio station this morning (June 5) that he's still waiting for the go ahead to perform at the bash, saying he's taking "each day as it comes."

He explained: "I'd love to be there - I'd be gutted to miss it, but I've got to take each day as it comes. I have good days and bad days. I'm having speech therapy and vocal coaching to try and get the strength back.
"I've got another doctors' appointment this week so fingers crossed he gives us the all clear. Being in a band and being told you may never sing again is one of the most terrifying things you can hear."
Nathan - who was woken up by Capital FM's Breakfast Show to speak about his condition - went on to discuss his surgery, saying: "It hasn't been pleasant. It's been quite a tough last couple of months.
I started struggling when we were filming the TV show and we were recording a bit of the album. It just got worse and worse.

"We did a gig in the Bahamas and my doctor gave me a ring and said, 'We literally have to operate now or it's going to get so much worse'. The operation went as well as it could apparently."
Speaking of the support he's received from his bandmates, Sykes added: "They came into the hospital but they've been so busy... out in America, they've been to Australia and Japan as well. It's tough seeing them go around the world.
"The fans have been incredible, they've kept me going through it."
The Wanted are set to open the Summertime Ball, which is set to take place at London's Wembley Stadium. Keep it MTV News UK for all the action!
